White UK is very conscious of the impact we are all having on our environment. We’re also aware that every little bit helps when it comes to protecting our World and habitat.
White UK is now involved with other local businesses, as well as Urban Wildlife Solutions and Severn Trent Water, in letting people know how much we care for the environment by Sponsoring a bird box.
This Scheme is the only one of its kind dedicated to endangered species and hopefully an inspiration for businesses, both locally and nationally to support and mirror this worthy cause.
More specifically, White UK Ltd has sponsored an owl box, which is located at Staunton Harold Reservoir.
After extensive works to create suitable habitat for Barn Owls, it was decided to introduce a number of nest boxes to the site. However with most of the budget being spent on the habitat, this left no funds available for boxes.
White UK Ltd and other local businesses were made aware of this dilemma via Urban Wildlife Solutions. We anticipate that these boxes will be used by the birds this summer as lack of breeding sites has been one of the major factors in the barn owl decline.
We feel proud in the fact that White UK Ltd has contributed to saving one of Britains most attractive and charming owls.
School sets
bench mark for
quality CCTV and Security.
White UK Ltd is proud to announce its new contract to install
50 IP based CCTV cameras within the new building at Portland
School in Worksop, Notts.
With internal and external school security, and the protection
of children, being of prime importance in the UK today,
Portland School has chosen the ultimate solution. The White
UK installation will provide overt prevention of loss, damage
and even assault on school premises, coupled with high quality
colour CCTV images to easily identify culprits intent on
theft, vandalism and bodily harm.
This system incorporates Vantage and Axis cameras with
a Milestone IP based surveillance system giving a feature
packed solution through the school’s existing cabling
infrastructure.

White UK “hots
up” for installation at Fire HQ.
White UK Ltd will “fire up” your imagination
with the creative diversity demonstrated by this novel installation.
This exciting project involves the installation of an advanced
projection and audio solution, within the meeting room and
across the training rooms of Nottinghamshire Fire Brigade
HQ, based at Bestwood Park, Notts.
Each of the four rooms will have ceiling recessed projection
screens, coupled with a projector located on a recessed,
ceiling mounted video lift.
The three adjoining Training rooms have easily removable
partition walls to permit the formation of one, two or three
areas.
To increase the educational versatility of these flexible
training spaces, White UK will install a separate projector
and audio system into each of the three rooms. Each room,
and its audio/projector system, can be used separately,
or combined, when the partitions are removed to form two
rooms or one single space. A true example of innovation
in education.
Intelligent control for each configuration will be achieved
via hand held remotes which will be programmed to perform
a number of tasks such as source selection, volume control,
operation of the screen and video lifts and much more giving
the client a state of the art installation to be proud of.

and Win!!
White UK is pleased to announce its successful installation
within the UK’s premier poker club , Dusk Till Dawn.
Based in Nottingham the poker club is the largest in Europe
and opened its doors to the public on 29th November 2007.
Central to this innovative system is the Shielded CAT 5e
cabling solution that White UK used to connect some 150
data outlets, providing zero interference from all components,
which include:
• 26 IP based networked cameras using Milestone surveillance
software, which maximises disc space and performance on
a server, and giving secure access to any PC or PDA with
web access
• A 10 door access control system, with proximity
readers, cards swipe readers as well as keypads with proximity
readers for extra security
• 8 audio zones and 25 plasma displays, both ceiling
and wall mounted, each screen has the capability of displaying
one of eight video sources, either on demand or through
scheduled programming via two cascaded video matrix switchers.
• 3 Communications racks within the poker club’s
server room to house the servers, the cabling and network
distribution equipment and the AV kit.
The system is fully integrated and is controlled using
a 7½" touch screen console over the wireless
LAN. This console is programmed to act as remotes for the
Sky TV boxes, the music server handsets as well as the video
displays and audio amp, with specially designed user friendly
interfaces.
This complete business solution fully demonstrates how
